.faith.above.every.circumstance.

The story of Benson, Kristen, and their son Luke is a story close to my heart. The past several days I have been following this wonderful couple that I have met on several occasions through Brett's brother Nick. The couple found out not too long ago during Kristen's pregnancy that their baby would have heart complications, resulting in a disease know as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Their faith was amplified by hearing this news when others would have ran away from faith. I have never seen two Christian people with such faith in God and trust that He knows whats right for them even when they don't understand why things happen.

Luke Sexton was born and lived for only a short time being born on July 2, 2010 and passing away on July 9, 2010. But still Benson and Kristen, even though their hearts are crushed, still believe that their baby boy was here for God's great plan and while he was only here for a short while, his life and their testimony has been shared with THOUSANDS and all for the Glory of God. If one life is changed because of Luke, it will be worthwhile.

Continue to pray for Benson and Kristen even though their baby boy has gone to see Jesus. Pray for their comfort and the strength to carry on. Pray for their continuous understanding of God's love and the hope that lives were changed for the better. Pray for their family who is probably exhausted and for them to get rest as well. You can check out their blog at www.lukesexton.blogspot.com and even make donations to the Luke 1:37 Ministries. A celebration service is to be held tomorrow at 11:00 in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Evolution of Type Taste -- AWESOME!

So I just found this Evolution of Type Taste from Grade School to Present that this woman did of herself. I LOVE IT! I totally can relate and if you are reading this and are a student of mine, you know exactly what I am talking about. I will definitely be making one of these soon!!!

Vintage cameras are my new thing...

So I have found yet another hobby, collecting cameras! But not only am I collecting them, I am actually using them and experimenting with medium format cameras for actual portraiture, weddings, etc.  The first camera I got was the one on the right, the Kodak TLR Duaflex.  This camera was made in 1949 and uses 620 film.  Brett got me this one for Christmas and I have already done two rolls of film! (the film is a little expensive since they don't make it much anymore)

The camera on the left I found at a thrift shop in Bowling Green.  It's a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye which also was made around 1949-50 and also takes 620 film.  The first picture is Brett taking it apart and me cleaning it! Parts were everywhere! But the neatest thing about both of these cameras is that they came with the attachable flash! The flash I will probably never use though because the bulbs are very expensive and can only be used once!

I will be posting pictures made with each one soon!

It's been awhile

It's been awhile and well, life has changed.  I am back home now after graduating from college...yay! here's me.
And so, after a summer of filling up my resume with random jobs, I have started a new adventure, teaching classes at Daymar college.   This seems like it will be a very rewarding job for both me and my students!

On the side, I have still been taking pictures like crazy.  I have had a couple of portrait sessions, mostly engagements that I will post on here asap!  Hope all is well!

TODAY IS THE DAY!

This is it! Today is my senior art show! And for all you special ones that aren't able to make it, here is a sneak peek before the show even opens! I love you all and thanks for all of your encouragement! also, read my thesis statement, it will explain the pictures.  The accordion books on the wall are experiences that I have had in my hometown, good and bad, that I have learned from. Enjoy!

AHH it's nearing!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been awhile! I wanted to also take this chance to send out my invite for graduation! Okay Okay I know most of you won't come but just look at how hard I worked on the invitation! :)

It's been awhile and boy has it been busy.  Senior show is basically in two  weeks and I am wrapping up and finishing the final things.  I officially have a website now! www.adaemitchell.com is there but with nothing on it yet! lol. Sorry!

Spring break was a blast. I had the time of my lives with the 5 greatest girls in the world! We had so much fun we promised that every 3 years we were taking a cruise and in the meantime, we will take smaller trips!  I cannot ask for any better of friends!

Only 5 more weeks til I graduate and I am back in good ole Scottsville for a little bit! So hopefully I can update more around senior show time to give a peek to those of you who can't be here! Love you all!
